Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GR CONVERTER PRO (“the app”), a tactical mapping and coordinate conversion app, uses, stores and shares information when you use it. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Summary
- On your device: your GPS location, route tracking history, waypoints, routes, tactical reports and offline map tiles (AO tiles) are processed and stored locally. They are not sent to our servers, synced or backed up.
- Map providers: OpenStreetMap, Esri, Carto and OpenTopo receive your IP address when the app fetches or downloads map tiles.
- Ads: yes, for non-PRO users, through Google AdMob, which uses your device’s advertising ID. Some ads are delivered by Meta Audience Network through AdMob mediation.
- Purchases: an optional PRO subscription, paid through Google Play Billing and verified through RevenueCat. We do not store your payment details.
- Never collected: your clipboard history, your email address for marketing, and general usage analytics (no Google Analytics).
2. Information the App Uses
The app requests only the permissions and data it needs to work:
- Precise location (GPS): used for real-time coordinate conversions, map centring and tactical navigation. Location is processed locally on your device.
- Foreground location service: the Tactical Route Tracker uses a foreground service to keep logging your route accurately while the app is running, including when your screen is locked. A persistent notification is shown while it is active. The app does not request or use the background location permission, and your location is never transmitted to our servers.
- Local storage: waypoints, saved tactical routes, tactical reports and downloaded offline map tiles (AO tiles) are stored on your device. We do not transmit, sync or back up this data to any external server.
- Clipboard: the app accesses the clipboard only when you tap “PASTE LINK” to extract coordinates. We do not store, track or transmit your clipboard history.
- Device identifiers: Google AdMob collects your device’s advertising ID to deliver ads (see section 3).
3. Third-Party Services
The app relies on the following third-party services for mapping, advertising and subscriptions:
- Map tile providers (OpenStreetMap, Esri, Carto, OpenTopo): when the app loads live map tiles, or downloads tiles for offline use, your IP address is necessarily visible to these providers so that they can deliver the map imagery. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy and the Esri privacy statement; Carto and OpenTopo apply their own privacy policies.
- Google AdMob: shows banner, interstitial and app-open ads to non-PRO users to support the app. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising ID to show relevant ads. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partner apps.
- Meta Audience Network (through AdMob mediation): some ads are delivered by Meta Platforms' Audience Network, which Google AdMob can select through mediation. When it delivers an ad, Meta may receive your device's advertising ID, IP address, device information and ad interaction data to show, measure and protect ads. See the Meta Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing: handles all payments for the optional PRO subscription. We do not store your financial details or card information. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: verifies your PRO subscription status. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Data on your device: your waypoints, routes, tactical reports and offline map tiles stay on your device until you remove them. To delete them, go to Android Settings > Apps > GR CONVERTER PRO > Storage > Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
- Our servers: we do not keep any of this data on our own servers.
- Advertising data: data collected by Google AdMob is retained by Google under Google’s policies. Data received by Meta through mediation is kept by Meta under its own policies.
- Subscription records: payment and subscription status records are handled by Google Play and RevenueCat under their own policies.
5. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use general usage tracking or analytics tools such as Google Analytics. Our partners, RevenueCat and AdMob, collect only the data needed to verify your subscription status and to serve ads. We do not collect your email address for marketing.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Permissions: you can grant or revoke the location permission at any time in Android Settings. Features such as GPS conversions and the Tactical Route Tracker need it to work.
- Personalised ads: you can opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device). Where required by law, your choices about ads are requested as Google’s policies require.
- Ads and PRO: ads are shown only to non-PRO users.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to processing. Because the app keeps your data on your device, most of these you can exercise directly on the device; for anything else, contact us.
7. Children’s Privacy
GR CONVERTER PRO is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.
8. Security
We reduce the risk of a data breach by processing and storing all of your location data, route tracking history and offline maps locally on your device rather than on external servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage on a device is completely secure.
9. International Processing
The third-party services named above (the map tile providers, Google and RevenueCat) may process data on servers outside your country, under their own safeguards. This includes Meta Platforms, which delivers some ads through AdMob mediation.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also note it in the app’s store listing or release notes.
